The problem with most WiFi installs

Your router isn't the problem.
Your network design is.

Most WiFi problems in Southern Highlands homes aren't caused by bad equipment β€” they're caused by no design at all. A single router placed wherever it's convenient is not a network. It's a guess.

🏠

Whole-home coverage

We map your property, calculate signal propagation through your specific walls and layout, and place access points exactly where they're needed β€” not just where it's easiest to run a cable.

πŸ”’

Proper network segmentation

Guest networks, IoT device isolation, camera VLANs β€” we build security into the network from day one. Your family's devices never share a segment with your smart locks or outdoor cameras.

πŸ“Š

Remote monitoring included

Every system we install is monitored remotely via UniFi UISP. We know before you do if something isn't right β€” and we can often fix it before you notice.

🏚️

Estate & farm coverage

Point-to-Point wireless bridges carry your network to sheds, studios, gate houses and outbuildings without trenching. One network, one app, every building on your property.

πŸ”„

Seamless roaming

UniFi's enterprise roaming protocol means your device hands off between access points without dropping. Walk from the kitchen to the paddock without reconnecting.

πŸ’Ό

No ongoing fees

No monthly subscription, no support contract. The system is yours, monitored remotely at no extra charge. If something isn't right, we're a phone call away β€” always local.

Why UniFi

We use enterprise hardware.
Not what you'd find at Bunnings.

There's a significant difference between consumer WiFi equipment and enterprise-grade networking hardware. We specify and install UniFi exclusively β€” here's why it matters.

01

Designed for demanding environments

UniFi access points are specified for commercial and enterprise environments β€” thick walls, large floor areas, high device counts. They handle Southern Highlands properties in a way consumer equipment simply cannot.

02

Unified management platform

Every access point, switch and gateway on your property is managed from a single interface. One app, complete visibility, remote access from anywhere in the world.

03

Built to last

Consumer WiFi routers and mesh kits are designed to be replaced every 2–3 years. UniFi hardware is designed to run for a decade. The upfront cost is higher β€” the lifetime cost is lower.

"Bowral WiFi helped us to modernise our Burradoo home. Now my guests just join the wireless network and stream music to any area of the house. Thanks for making it so easy."

Common questions

WiFi FAQs.

How many access points do I need?

It depends on your property's size, layout, and wall construction. As a rough guide: single-storey homes under 200mΒ² typically need 2–3 access points; larger homes, multi-level properties, or those with thick brick walls may need 4–6. We assess your specific property before recommending anything.

Can you cover my whole farm β€” including the shed?

Yes. We use Point-to-Point enterprise wireless bridges to carry your network to any outbuilding on your property β€” sheds, stables, gate houses, studios and more. No cable trenching required.

What's the difference between mesh WiFi and what you install?

Consumer mesh systems (Eero, Orbi, Google Nest) are designed for small apartments and simple layouts. They use wireless backhaul, which halves performance with every hop. We install enterprise UniFi systems with wired backhaul where possible β€” genuinely better performance, significantly more reliable, and designed for demanding properties.

Do I need to be home for the installation?

Yes β€” we need access to your property to carry out the site assessment and installation. We'll work around your schedule and give you a clear timeframe for the visit.

How long does a typical WiFi installation take?

A standard residential installation typically takes 4–8 hours depending on property size and complexity. Larger estates or installations requiring cable runs to outbuildings may take a full day or two.
